My Mission

I have been producing content for marketing since I began my career. However, it was in 2008 that the "Content Marketing" industry was coined and I was one of the people that launched the industry. The Content Marketing industry as we know it today didn't exactly "launch" in 2008, but rather experienced significant growth and evolution during that period, thanks to several key factors:


  • Emergence of Social Media Platforms: The rise of social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube provided new avenues for brands to promote and distribute content and engage with their audience directly. I knew "Content Turned King".


  • Shift in Consumer Behavior: With the increasing use of the internet, consumers started to seek out information and entertainment online. This shift in behavior created a demand for high-quality content online that provided value, rather than traditional advertising messages and media.


  • Search Engine Optimization (SEO): Google's algorithm updates, particularly the introduction of Google Panda in 2011, placed greater emphasis on the quality and relevance of content for search rankings. This encouraged businesses to focus on creating valuable, informative content to improve their visibility in search results where quality rises to the top.


  • Rise of Content Marketing Platforms: As the demand for content marketing grew, new platforms and tools emerged to help businesses create, distribute, and measure the effectiveness of their content marketing efforts. Companies like HubSpot, Contently, and Marketo provide comprehensive Content Marketing solutions for businesses of all sizes.


  • Thought Leadership and Education: Marketers and industry experts began to advocate for the importance of Content Marketing through thought leadership articles, blog posts, and conferences. This educational content helped to raise awareness and establish content marketing as a legitimate marketing strategy.


Overall, the convergence of these factors laid the foundation for the growth and development of the Content Marketing industry, which continues to be incredibly important, evolve, and expand to this day.

Coastline Takes Home the Gold and Silver in the 6th Annual Educational Digital Marketing Awards

FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif., March 28, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- The winners of the 6th Annual Education Digital Marketing Awards were recently announced, and Coastline College's Marketing Department received top honors of gold and silver awards.   

The Coastline College marketing department won the gold award in the main page website refresh category for its vibrant redesign of its website homepage. The marketing department is completing new rebranding for the college which includes a revitalized website redesign. The website's main page has been enriched with vivid photography, more interactive and engaging content, as well as being easier to navigate. The new website is currently being built on a new content management system and will launch in early summer 2019.  

Coastline College also won the silver award for the online display advertisement category with their Upgrade to the New You campaign which was published in the Orange County Business Journal promoting the distinctive programs, certificates, and degrees that are available at Coastline College.

ORANGE COUNTY, Calif., Nov. 2, 2021 /PRNewswire/ -- Coastline College, in keeping with its tagline 'Leader of Innovative Education' is taking its mascot in a direction like no other college or university. 'Fin' the college's newly designed dolphin mascot has joined forces with the Dolphin Project and the Ocean Conservation Society, to help bring awareness of life in our seas and help protect dolphins and other ocean marine life along the Orange County coastline.


Coastline College students are already working with Back Bay Science Center and Moore Lab at Scripps Marine Biotechnology and Biomedical Institute to culture bacteria from sponges to search for microbes that produce compounds that show antibiotic properties as part of their major's-level course work and in the independent studies, Work-Based Learning courses. The Back Bay Science Center conducts a monthly program called Marine Life Inventory that collects monthly data on water quality, plankton, and marine organisms. The samples from the MLI are used to collaborate with the Tiny Earth Program. Tiny Earth is a network of talented students and instructors who share research, best practices, and enthusiasm for discovery to "save the seas." Both research programs help support populations of marine mammals from the back bays to the open ocean.


Coastline students participating in ecological research at the Newport Back Bay Science Center gain hands-on experience in data collection, entry, management, and analysis, and build relationships with scientists' skills as they learn about the biodiversity.
